Event Location: ALS Headquarters
Our first of this year's technology classes will be held Wednesday May 15th at 9:30am here at ALS headquarters in Mountain Iron.
The topic of the class will be "Windows File Operations." We will practice variations on all the essential file operations in Windows--copying, moving, deleting, renaming, finding, creating--as they apply to both files and folders in the Windows 7 and, for the most part, the Windows XP operating systems. Windows Explorer, finally renamed "File Explorer" in Windows 8 in an attempt to stop the never-ending confusion with Internet Explorer, will become your best friend.
The class is limited to 10 participants. While the instructor's PC on the projection screen will be running Windows 7, there are 5 Windows XP machines and 5 Windows 7 machines for participants. You are assumed to have used a Windows computer before and to be proficient in the use of a mouse, keyboard, and basic visual cues (i.e., the concept of icons).
The class starts at 9:30 for donuts (yum!) and sign-in, and the demonstration begins promptly at 10am, and will run until noon. If you are interested in coming I need to hear from you by Friday May 3rd; please state your preference as to a Windows 7 or Windows XP computer. First come first served; if there is enough interest, we may add an afternoon session as well (1pm-3pm).
Email Mark Koukol (firstname.lastname@example.org) to register.
