Have you ever heard of the troubadours who traveled from castle to castle to recite poetry? One of them created a poetic form, reminiscent of a puzzle or labyrinth. It’s called a Sestina. Come hear the story of Tina Christina Sestina, a Northwoods girl, who takes her friends on a trip to meet her clairvoyant Aunt on Big Lake Water. Learn to use the Sestina form to create your own wild adventure!

The summer Susan Hawkinson and her girlfriends were 16 years old they lived outdoors, cooking their meals over an open fire, and built their own shelters.  It was her personal experience that summer that made her love the wild outdoor life of the characters in her poetry. Tina Christina Sestina is her first book written for teens through adults.
