Minnesota Opportunities for Reference Excellence

This is the official website of MORE: Minnesota Opportunities for Reference Excellence.

MORE is a Minnesota adaptation of the California Opportunities for Reference Excellence (CORE) Reference Manual and Correspondence Course. CORE was written and produced by Sharon Vandercook, Deborah Westler and Mary Layman with funding from the Library Services and Construction Act. The California State Library and the San Joaquin Valley Library System, Fresno, California, administered the grant. CORE was published in 1989. Previous MORE paper editions were published in 1991 and 1994.

The updating and expansion of this MORE Manual and the development of this website were provided by funding from The Institute of Museum and Library Services, a Federal Agency that fosters innovation, leadership, and a lifetime of learning, and Library Development and Services, the Minnesota State agency, under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).
