Start up a Great Friendship

With the Friends of the Falls Public Library

Our group supports the programs and collection of International Falls Public library in many ways.  We sponsor special events for children, adults, seniors, and families.  We raise funds to purchase equipment and materials outside the normal library budget.  The Friends also work to enhance and increase awareness of library programs and services.

 
Upcoming dates of importance for the Friends of the Library:

Book Sale--Tuesday, February 19th from 5:30 - 7:30
Book Sale--Tuesday, March 18th from 5:30 - 7:30
Book Sale--Tuesday, April 8th from 5:30 - 7:30
Book Sale--Tuesday, May 6th from 5:30 - 7:30

• Sponsored "Project Bookshelf" in December 1998 - 2006.  Through this program, deserving young people from the International Falls area received a book as a holiday gift.  More than 65 books were given out in 2006 alone.
• Funded visits by entertainers for "Family Night at the Library" programs.  Most recently, singer Will Hale appeared during National Library Week 2001.
• Purchased various pieces of library furniture and equipment.  These have included a portable public address system, bookshelves for the Junior Library, and assorted area rugs.
• Purchased custom shelving for Minnesota History Room. 
• Funded a wild and colorful mural for the Junior Library door.
• Provided library logo t-shirts for participants in the 2006 Summer Reading Program.
• And much more!
